Movie Review : Om Shanti

Trailer: C.Ashwini Dutt’s daughter’s (Seshu Priyanka Chalasani) 2nd offering from “Three Angels Studio” after BANAM. A new director, Prakash Dantuloori, has been introduced with this movie which stars some known/upcoming faces. One of the major attractions is - music for this movie is by Maestro Illayaraja.

Title: Interesting, Catchy & Good but not properly utilized.

My Title: ASHANTI Caption/Tagline: …andariki!

My Justification for my title & caption/tagline: The movie gives no good results to the makers [Producer & Director including all other technicians], actors, buyers, distributors & viewers/audience.

Story : The story has 5 different stories/threads in it, out of which only 2 [Software Emp & Farmer] has some freshness/little substance.

Screenplay : Screenplay is lacking freshness/grip for most of the movie except in parts for the 2 good stories/threads.

Direction (Prakash Dantuloori): Is good in parts, very average on the whole.

Dialogues (Nagaraju Gandham): Dialogues are casual, realistic and good for those 2 threads [Software Emp & Farmer], rest are routine & uninteresting.

Songs: Lyrics are good except for title song. “Chinna polike” & “Flying on the moon” out.

Music (Illayaraja): Rehash of all his old works, with good quality. BGM made no good impact to the video on screen.

Cinematography (Jayanan Vincent): Is OK, but could be better.

Editing (Marthand K Venkatesh): Not so good. This kind of narration needs tight screenplay as well as crisp editing.

Action/Fights: There is only one & it is not up to the mark / unimpressive.

Choreography: Is average. Expected better video for the good audio.

Production Values: Good.

Publicity: Is adequate.

Performances:

Navadep: This talented actor is good as a software youth, handsome & did his part well.

Kajal: She is good, but becoming routine with limited expressions.

Nikhil: Is ROUTINE and irritating at times. [Biggest problem here is even in his all other movies he imitates RaviTeja, so we couldn’t find anything fresh/new/impressive here, also his characterization/role is not designed properly.]

Aditi Sharma: Bad Choice.

Madhavan: Is good in a surprise package, but he is not been utilized well.

Bindu Madhavi: Bad Choice, in fact there is nothing to perform also. [Role has no importance to speak/write/act, such a poor character by all means.]

Murali Mohan: Made his mark in a blink & miss role.

Sunil: Provided laughs here & there. But he is LOUD.

Raghu Babu: Is OK

Siva Reddy: Is wasted.

Others: Are OK.

Public Talk: Sodi Cinema. Patience tester. DVD/TV lo chudalsindi.

My Feel: I am disappointed with lack of freshness in 3 out of 5 stories and related screenplay. Movie is too predictable for me from the minute all the lead characters are introduced. I seriously felt INTERVAL bang itself is almost a CLIMAX for this movie.
